So we dropped off dem parts on Badwater, didn't intend to come back to this pile of gosa backwater station, but paying cargo is paying cargo. Stop of at Charlie's to get a quick drink and Jimmy and Johny catch wind that maybe one of their old war buddies is in town, and might have been just recently forcibly seperated from his mortal coil. We got a bit of time so they checks it out.
Merciful Hera things got weird. Let me run it down for ya in no particular order...
Lopez (their buddy) was killed (and had his face ripped off)
Lopez, also called High-Lo worked for some salverger guy in the past
He had pictures on his watch of folks Nick swears are in his past, a space station that might be a lost gold mine, some places not many have heard of, and some ships that aren't registered.
one of the folks in the pics is a boogey man that like to rip people's faces off
later pictures look like it has taken quite a turn for the worst
He was meeting some scientist guy worked for the folks that held Nick captive long ago, a company that seems to have "disapered" everyone else he worked with
Did I mention Nick was captive and the scientist worked on said space station gold mine.
Some organized corporate goon types are now trying to aquire the scientist, but apperently don't just want him dead (owning to the fact they were willing to pop the Badwater dome, but held off when they thought they were bringing him in)
Scientist is a crazy good doctor, but makes Nick nervous, a bit understandable since everyone new makes Nick nervous, let alone people associated with his previous incarceration.
Now what? well we drop off 300ton of cargo on Regina, ahh how i'm sure Jimmy will just love being dragged around Frisco by EMay being introduced as the father of her child. mmnn.. thinkin i might just send them a note let them know were coming in case they want to throw a party.
Then to Torval Station, about the only place civilized in this part of the verse, to pick up mail, supplies, etc.
Then to Greenleaf, assuming we can find some cargo. Mysteries are great and all, but they sure don't keep Betty Mae flying.
