Roughly 6' tall with a muscular build and quick reflexes. Jimmy has a sharp eye, and a quick and deadly pistol hand, two of 'em if truth be told. A natural talent with machinery lead him into a career dealing with machines, after a brief stint as a soldier of for the Independants. Also known as Jimmy "The Wrench".

Jimmy is Jimmy, all you need to know. He was born in the summer of 2486 and grew up on Boros, helping his dad run the machinist shop that the family owned from the time he was tall enough to operate the equipment. James Bean Sr always said his son had a natural talent for operating the equipment and working around the shop. When the War started up 16 years later the Alliance cracked down hard on the civilian population of Boros, because of it's close proximity to Ares, and as a result both of Jimmy's parents were arrested and detained without trial or reason given. Jimmy only managed to escape the arrest because he had been in a neighboring city when the Feds busted down the doors and cuffed his parents. Luckily, some of the family friends, Browncoat sympathizers, got word to Jimmy before the Feds got to him, and within two weeks of his parents arrest he was already shipping off-planet to the nearest Browncoat enlistment center.

Many years, and even more stories later, Jimmy Bean and his good war buddy, Johny Crockett get hired on as crew of Betty Mae, an '03 Firefly Class Transport. She may not be pretty to look at, but the old girl treats you well if you know how to talk to her.
